The little town of Duchess, Alberta, that we call home, has always maintained a butcher shop. For nearly a century, there has been an exchange of names and owners in the old converted house on main street. In years past, it has always been run as a custom mobile slaughter operation, until finally acquiring Provincially inspected slaughter, in our new "Gold Medal", HACCP facility. Alberta Prairie Meats Inc., was incorporated in November of 2000, opening our doors to the public in our brand-new 6000 sq. ft. facility in the summer of 2001. Though names, owners, and eventually the building itself have changed with the business, I have always been proud of the original logo that I was insistent on carrying over with the new name.
